Sainsbury’s Ladbroke Grove - here to stay

Our plans for Project Flourish include the delivery of a brand new Sainsbury’s supermarket at the heart of Kensal Canalside. 

We’re working closely with Sainsbury’s to deliver a larger, modern store with a revised layout that will vastly improve the shopping experience of customers. The store will also feature a well-lit customer café, stock an expanded range of Sainsbury’s award-winning food and non-food products, and provide undercover car parking.

We want to ensure a seamless transition between the closure and opening of the existing and proposed stores. In Phase 1 of the development, the current store will remain open during the construction of the new store. Only when the proposed store has been fully constructed will the existing store close. This will make sure that members of the local community always have access to their local Sainsbury’s store.

It’s also important to reiterate that all current store colleagues will move to the new store. 

The new store will provide a number of significant benefits for customers, including:

• Improved store layout, including wider, more accessible aisles

• The sales area will be 1,116sqm larger than the existing stores – a 25% increase!

• A wider range of food and non-food products

• Undercover customer car parking, with EV-charging provision

• Three times more capacity for groceries online

• A brand new customer café.
