Sainsbury’s at the Heart of Kensal Canalside
A brand new Sainsbury’s supermarket at the centre of Kensal Canalside, showcasing our very latest format and range of high quality, great value products we have to offer as part of our commitment to provide Good food for all of us. Keeping the existing store open during the redevelopment of the site is a key principle at the core of Sainsbury's and Ballymore's proposals and Sainsbury's will continue to serve and help our customers in the community throughout the entire construction period.

Our work with London Sports Trust
We are proud to have a long running sponsorship agreement with London Sport Trust (LST). During the last few years, we have hosted numerous community days at the Canalside Activity Centre organised by LST, including two days this year in May and October, with another day planned to coincide with Christmas. Food, games, competitions, music, art, climbing, and water sports activities are organised and provided. These community days have provided us the opportunity to meet residents, families and young children from the local areaand discuss ways in which our scheme can benefit them and the future of Ladbroke Grove.

Our Application Has Been Validated!
Ballymore and Sainsbury’s joint venture submits plans for major new canalside neighbourhood in Ladbroke Grove
Over 2,500 new homes, two new parks, restored canal basin and high street proposed for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on brownfield site.

Joy Sigaud
Our team first met Joy Sigaud at the performance of Shirley J. Thompson OBE’s ‘Women of the Windrush’ at The Tabernacle. The performance, one of two, was sponsored by Ballymore to commemorate this year’s 75th Anniversary of the Windrush generation.
The team were captivated by Joy’s charisma and storytelling which is no wonder given she is the founder and editor of Editions Media, which publishes Editions Lifestyle Magazines and the Windrush newsletters. The two publications provide a platform for positive stories to be told about the Black community in a format that is appealing and accessible to all.

Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area – making a former industrial site safe for development.
Ballymore and Sainsbury’s proposals for the Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area have seen some concerns raised by local residents on the safety around redeveloping a former industrial gasworks site.
Beginning in 1996, the proposed site has undergone a number of ground investigations, desk-top surveys and remediation works to make sure it is suitable and safe for development. Significant remediation works took place in 2002, which included the removal of chemically-impacted soils.

Canal Day of Action!
On August 23rd, we had 20 of our Ballymore staff team up with Pursuing Independent Paths (PiP) students to clean up the Grand Union Canal near Canalot Studios. We removed litter from the canal path and the canal itself, painted over graffiti, removed overgrown weeds and planted seeds.
