Project Flourish - a Place to Live, Work and Play

Creating a vibrant new neighbourhood and inclusive community where people feel happy to live, work and play is at the heart of our exciting plans for Project Flourish.

Key to this will be the delivery of excellent connectivity so residents and visitors can move easily and freely in and around the site, and the provision of fantastic green parks and play spaces for all to enjoy.

Our proposals for movement and connectivity will:

  • Deliver well-connected streets and roads, including an improved canal path

  • Create a '20-minute neighbourhood’, ensuring everything people could need to live, work and play is easily accessible within a 20-minute walk

  • Make Kensal Canalside Green with new public parks and improved biodiversity

  • Make Kensal Canalside an attractive, family-inclusive destination for all

  • Encourage and prioritise sustainable modes of travel like walking, cycling and the use of public transport

  • Provide robust road safety measures across the site to protect all road-users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

  • Deliver a fully accessible site for all disabled residents and visitors.

Our Movement Strategy has been devised with input from both RBKC and TfL. Together, we have identified areas where improvements can be made to the local highway network which will improve safety and enhance the use of sustainable modes of travel.

Our green and play strategy will provide:

  • Three main public play areas, all including accessible and inclusive play equipment

  • Sports facilities for activities such as football, basketball, climbing and kayaking

  • A fully permeable canal path allowing pedestrian and cycle access into the new neighbourhood

  • Parks adjacent to Ladbroke Grove and close to the canal to create a welcoming new public green space.

We’re really excited to be able to create an amazing new neighbourhood at Kensal Canalside and are confident that the proposals outlined above will help us to secure that objective.
