Project Flourish delivers festive treats for The Dalgarno Trust and St Thomas’ Primary School
Over the festive period, members of Ballymore’s Project Flourish team put on their Santa hats and delivered some very special Christmas presents to children from The Dalgarno Trust and St Thomas' Church of England Primary School.
The team donated tickets so the Trust could take 24 local children and their parents or carers to see Disney on Ice at The O2. Those in attendance were treated to a singing and skating extravaganza featuring all their favourite Disney and Pixar characters, including Mickey Mouse, Elsa from Frozen (of course!), Mary Poppins and The Incredibles.
The Dalgarno Trust is an important local charity, which does incredible work in the local community. As such, we’re always happy to work with them to make sure as many local youngsters as possible have amazing experiences that they will remember forever.
Last Christmas, we gave the Trust 40 tickets for children to go to a singalong screening of Sing 2 at the ODEON Luxe in Leicester Square. We also sponsored two coaches earlier this year so they could enjoy some exciting days out at Chessington World of Adventures and GO Laser Tag in Surrey.
One local parent, who attended Disney on Ice with their children, said: “I just wanted to say thank you for giving me and the kids the opportunity to watch Disney on Ice. The kids had such an incredible time. The show was fantastic. The smile on their face throughout the show was magical. Seeing them sing along with the songs and dancing was great. I could really tell they enjoyed it. Thanks again.”
Another said: “Thank you for the Disney show, it was amazing and so enjoyable! My kids and I were so happy with it, and we had a fantastic day. My son said, ‘I love the show! I saw all the Disney characters!’ and my daughter added, ‘I'm so happy to see Elsa ice skating!’
At St Thomas’ CE Primary School, the team donated a popcorn machine for the school’s annual Christmas fair, which the pupils thoroughly enjoyed in the lead up to Christmas. The school is one of two local primaries supported by Beyond The Classroom, a new charity focused on providing inspiring and entertaining activities for pupils.
We were one of Beyond The Classroom’s first sponsors, donating seed funding to help the charity get up and running. Since then, they have gone from strength to strength and enjoyed a very successful 2024, raising more than £25,000 in total.
Adrian Jones, Head of the Primary School, said: “Christmas is always a special time at St. Thomas, with the highlight being the much-anticipated Christmas fair. This joyful event brings the community together to celebrate the festive season, with parents organising activities, running stalls, and preparing delicious food.
“This year’s fair was even more exciting thanks to the generous donation of a popcorn machine by Ballymore, who are helping to develop the canalside area near the school. The popcorn was a huge hit with the children and will now be a regular feature at all future school events.”
We’re really looking forward to working more with The Dalgarno Trust and St Thomas’ Primary School this year, continuing to grow our relationships with them by supporting further fun activities and events.
